ECMath - Einstein Center for Mathematics Berlin:
The common platform for excellent mathematics in Berlin

The ECMath - Einstein Center for Mathematics Berlin establishes a network of excellence initiatives and projects, which include the Research Center Matheon, the Berlin Mathematical School (BMS), the German Center for Teacher Education in Mathematics (DZLM), the Research Campus Modal, and several Collaborative Research Centers (CRCs) or Transregional Research Centers (TRs).
ECMath supports application-oriented basic research in Matheon, selected students in BMS, school activities in DZLM, and knowledge transfer from science to industry, thus connecting education, cutting-edge research in pure and applied mathematics and large-scale industrial applications.

In Honour of Prof. Alexander Mielke

From September 24 to 28, 2018, the workshop ALEX2018 will take place at WIAS and HU Berlin. 12 keynote lectures and around 30 invited talks will address new aspects for evolutionary PDEs (partial differential equations) with a wide range of applications in physics, biology, chemistry and engineering. The afternoon of September 26th is reserved for a special colloquium in honor of Alexander Mielke's 60th birthday.

Five Years Research Campuses - Symposium

On September 20, 2018, the symposium "Innovationspol Forschungscampus" takes place in Kalkscheune Berlin. Cluster of Excellence:
Berlin mathematics successful in preselection

With their draft proposal “MATH + The Berlin Mathematics Research Center" mathematicians from the three Berlin universities FU, HU, TU and the research institutes WIAS and ZIB took the first hurdle in the current call of the Excellence Strategy of the German Federal and State Governments. MATH + was asked, together with 87 other applicants, to submit a full application by February 2018. MATH + is based on ECMath, Matheon, BMS, DZLM and Modal. Further information: universities-berlin.de
