With this biannual scientific colloquium we want to bring together mathematicians, scientists, and engineers to enjoy a series of talks on one topical issue of current or emerging interest to several fields within mathematics. The colloquium intends to foster scientific communication within ECMath and beyond.
Mathematical team play requires communication beyond the scientific level. ECMath established the series of ECMath-Salons about the conditions for successful science under the motto „Starting the weekend with good talks and good wine“. We invite leading figures from science and politics to a glass of good wine and good conversation about their personal credo, experiences, and tips for the young generation, first on stage and later with the audience.
The Margarete Kahn Distinguished Lecture features distinguished female mathematicians from all areas of mathematics, thereby showcasing role models for current and future generations. It is set up to honor Dr. Margarete Kahn, an excellent mathematician, whose scientific career was denied her as a woman. We warmly welcome not only senior scientists, but in particular also students and post-docs.
